The Seed Truck

Creative Community Gardening

Combining my passions for socially engaged art, environmental issues and local food production, I joined the award-winning Fife Diet team as part of their Seed Truck project. Travelling to festivals and community gardens throughout Scotland, we engaged residents of all ages, in the rewarding practice of growing their own food.

Working with young people at various community gardens, to make drawings, inspired by the plants and wildlife around them. These designs were then transformed into laser-cut stencils, which the participants used to decorate their raised beds. I also transformed some of their drawings into designs for mosaic tables. I worked with participants to create these tables by upcycling cable reels and broken ceramics.
