Spectra Festival of Light, Aberdeen
I was commissioned to produce a fire drawing for the opening of Spectra Festival of Light, Aberdeen.
In the lead up to the festival, I delivered workshops with the local community, asking them to help design the imagery. Like knitting patterns, fire drawings are intricately designed using a grid pattern. We explored traditional gansey fishermen’s jumpers and drew inspiration from the city's coastal heritage and industry.
Students from Gray's School of Art assisted in the creation and lighting of the piece.
