The Story of Maritime Leith
I was commissioned by Historic Environment Scotland to work with Illuminate UK and Leith Primary School, to create a play about the maritime history of our community. Illuminate UK took change of scripts, props and costume. I worked with the primary 6 class to create a backdrop for their show.
The project began with pupils creating drawings, depicting various aspects of the script. I then photographed these drawings and digitally assembled them into a cohesive collaborative design. I then guided the pupils in redrawing and painting their images on a larger scale.
To minimise our environmental impact, we used scrap vinyl salvaged from COP26 in Glasgow, as our painting surface.
