I’ve been busy creating videos and activity sheets for you to get involved with from the comfort of your own home, community centre or classroom.

Some activities have step by step instructions, others are much more playful and require imagination, creativity and problem solving. Most activities are aimed at kids, but many should appeal to adults too.

Pledge To The Planet

Commission for Forth Valley Art Beat, as part of their open studios weekend.

Visitors could make their own ‘Pledge to the Planet’ by adding to our Pledge Tree, have a go at the climate activity quiz, or pick up some free seeds to grow at home.

Paper Rosettes

During the Covid-19 lockdowns, I was commissioned by the National Museums of Scotland to create an instructional video, for their Museum at Home series. Learn to make 3 different styles of rosettes. What will you award yours for?

Anthotypes

Combining my interest in experimental photography with my love for my allotment. Anthotypes are a method of producing prints using photosensitive extracts from plants. Practiced for 200 years, yet relevant today as a sustainable art form. I was commissioned to make a short film about the process.

Biodegradable Origami Plant Pots

These clever little pots are fairly easy to make from a sheet of waste A4 paper. Then simply add a little compost and sew some seeds. Once your seedlings have germinated, if you’re lucky enough to have a garden, you can plant them outside, where the paper pot will decompose and your plant will flourish.

Soap Carving

Try your hand at this relaxing activity, suitable for all ages. Experience the mindfulness of being in the moment. This activity is as much about the process as it is about the finished carving.

Re-creating Artworks With Things You Find At Home

Museums and art galleries across the world are encouraging people to re-create artworks from things they have at home. The craze became particularly popular during the Covid-19 lockdowns. I’ve compiled an activity sheet showing some brilliant examples and my top tips for creating your own. Have oodles of fun, while learning about the history of art.

Make a Thaumatrope

Work on your STEAM skills with this optical illusion activity. Colour in my design, or create your own using the templates. No printer? Not a problem, the instructions give alternative options.

Make a Whirligig

Work on your STEAM skills with this optical illusion activity. Learn simple colour theory by using primary colours in your design. Watch them mix into secondary colours as your whirligig spins.

My work has been featured in several art and craft books.
